When choosing a magnet for a holder, the strength of the magnet is not the only important factor; the mounting method and overall construction of the holder also matter.

What should you be careful about?
Extra care is mainly required around sensitive electronics and medical devices. The risk to an ordinary smartphone is minimal, but magnets should not be placed directly next to pacemakers, magnetic-stripe bank cards or mechanical watches.
Use good-quality products. If you are choosing a magnetic car mount or another accessory, use a proven solution with a suitable magnet and properly designed construction.
