Etibar Elchiyev became famous as a man who could supposedly hold dozens of metal objects on his body. His story is one of the best-known examples of so-called human magnetism, a phenomenon that has fascinated people around the world.

In 2013, Etibar Elchiyev became the most attractive man in the world… although not quite in the usual sense. The Azerbaijani kickboxing trainer managed to hold an incredible 53 spoons on his chest and shoulders.
He became the first Azerbaijani to enter the Guinness World Records after beating his own 2011 achievement, when he held 50 spoons on his body. It is therefore hardly surprising that he claims to possess special magnetic powers.
If this reminds you of the X-Men villain Magneto, the difference is that Etibar really does exist.
His supposed magnetic abilities have been widely debated. Critics argue that the effect is more likely caused by smooth, hairless skin and surface adhesion than by any genuine magnetic force. Etibar, however, remains convinced that he deserves the nickname “Magnetic Man”.

- Aurel Răileanu from Romania, known as “Mr. Magnet”, was reportedly able to hold a 26 kg television against his body.
- Ivan Stoiljkovic, nicknamed the “Magnetic Boy”, was said to attract metal objects to his chest and carry up to 25 kg of metal.
- Liew Thow Lin became known as “Mr. Magnetic Man”.
- Dalibor Jablanović from Serbia held a record for the largest number of spoons attached to the body – 79 in total.
- Arun Raikar from India was reportedly able to support 10 kg of metal on his body.
- Agnė Kulitaitė from Lithuania is known for holding metal objects on her forehead or cheeks.
Human magnetism
Human magnetism is a popular term for the supposed ability of certain people to make metal objects stick to their skin. These people are often referred to as human magnets.
However, none of the recorded cases of human magnetism correspond to physical magnetism in the true scientific sense.
